>> Paramilitary force CRPF will deploy 567 women commandos in selected Left Wing Extremism-affected states for undertaking anti-Naxal operations. The latest batch of commandos from the CRPF training centre in Ajmer, Rajasthan has been selected for this. Note : This is the fourth women battalion of CRPF.
>> Karnataka government has established the Asia’s first Rice Technology Park in Koppal district and a Maize Technology Park in Haveri district by PPP mode. These parks will open new avenues for rice and maize growers to add value to their produce and get better returns and also enhance quality of the produce. As a value addition, there will be facilities for rice flour, rice rava, rice bran oil, noodles, rice-based alcohol, animal and poultry feed and paddy husk used for power generation and brick-making.
>> The Odisha government signed a Memorandum Of Understanding(MoU) with Sulabh International Social Service Organisation for construction and maintenance of ‘hybrid toilet complexes’. The hybrid toilet complexes having 5,957 seats will come up in nine urban centres under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Yojana.
>> Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor’s autobiography that unveils his personal and professional life, titled ‘Shashi Kapoor – the Householder, the Star’ has been released.
It has been authored by film journalist Aseem Chhabra. He was awarded the 2014 Dadasaheb Phalke Award, making him the 3rd member of his family after Prithviraj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor to receive the highest award in Indian cinema.

>> Saudi Arabia has replaced the country’s 80-year-old Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi with national oil company Saudi Aramco’s Chairman Khalid al-Falih, as part of a broader cabinet reshuffle. In power since 1995, al-Naimi had reportedly led the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries’ (OPEC) decision in 2014 to not restrain oil production amid global oversupply.
>> Switzerland Government has honoured late veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra by unveiling his bronze statue at Interlaken. He was known for opening a legacy of South Asian tourists flocking to Switzerland and had spent much time in the country besides shooting his movies.

This drive has been launched by the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) under the control of Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
>> India’s largest private sector lender, ICICI Bank has inked a MoU with the New Development Bank (NDB) – promoted by the BRICS grouping, for a partnership in bond issuances, co-financing, treasury management and human resources. ICICI Bank is the first financial institution in the country to tie up with the NDB.
About New Development Bank: NDB is a multilateral development bank promoted by BRICS nations viz. Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. It is headquartered in Shanghai, China with a regional office in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is an outcome of 6th BRICS Summit being held in Fortaleza, Brazil. The goal is to fund infrastructure projects in emerging economies for sustainable development.
>> Mumbai based IDBI Bank has decided to open an International Banking Unit (IBU) at the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in Gandhinagar. This is the first state-run bank to open IBU centre. Note that: Yes Bank, Federal Bank and ICICI Bank have been operating branches in GIFT city.
